Tournament Solutions at the PGA Merchandise Show

THIS A SPECIAL EDITION ON THE PGA MERCHANDISE SHOW

Tom-SiddonTom Siddon, the 2007-2008 Northeastern New York PGA Section Rolland Stafford Sportsmanship Award winner and three-time Section Assistant Player of the Year, is the PGA head professional at Massena (N.Y.) Country Club.

Each year while at the PGA Merchandise Show, I always visit with companies who offer tournament & outings solutions for golf professionals. With as many different companies exhibiting at the show each year, I always find something to help improve my events at Massena Country Club. Some years it’s something simple like a fun new tournament gift or award and other years its more substantial like a scoreboard solution. The members and guests who play in my events appreciate a little variety from year to year and event to event, and the show can help me achieve this.

As mentioned, I am usually always able to find something new for Massena’s tournament program. Most recently, I met with a company called ScoreboardWhiz.com. This company allows me to submit a list of my tournament fields and they send me printed score sheets to look like calligraphy within a few days. Not only did the tournament participants love seeing their name on a big leaderboard, but it also saved me and the rest of my professional golf staff hours of time! I also used these printed score sheets for the Northern New York Team Championships for the top amateurs in New York’s North Country and received a lot of compliments on them. Finding services such as these and products at the PGA Merchandise Show helps boost my tournament program and makes me more valuable to my employer.
